NFTs, also known as Non-Fungible Tokens, are getting increasingly popular as investors and collectors look to get involved in this latest craze — and some of the sale value of these NFTs are eye-watering.

NFTs boomed to popularity throughout 2020 and 2021, with art collections and even music worth millions. Some of the top influencers and celebrities worldwide are involved in the action.

We’ve seen collections such as; the Bored Ape Yacht Club and CryptoPunks become some of the most expensive NFTs you could get your hands on, with artists such as Beeple and Pak selling their pieces for tens of millions of dollars.

But which NFTs are genuinely the most expensive? Let’s take a further look.

10. Beeple’s Ocean Front NFT — $6m

Beeple’s Ocean Front NFT is the 10th most expensive NFT ever sold. On March 23, 2021, it was sold to Justin Sunstron, who outbid 3fmusic with 13 minutes to go.

9. XCopy’s A Coin for the Ferryman — $6.034m

This piece created by Xcopy titled ‘A Coin for the Ferrman’ is the 9th most expensive NFT. It was created in 2018 and sold for a fraction over $6m on November 4, 2021.

8. Beeple’s Crossroad — $6.6m

Beeple’s Crossroad is a 10-second video that depicts people walking past an enlarged body laying face down with insults written over it. This NFT was sold on February 15, 2021.

7. CryptoPunk #7804 — $7.57m

CryptoPunk #7804 is the seventh-highest selling NFT on the market, with a total value of $7.57 million. This NFT was sold on March 11, 2021. This Cryptopunk is currently for sale by the owner for an Eye-watering 35,000 ETH ($107,086,350).

CryptoPunk #3100 is the sixth-highest selling NFT on the market, with a total value of $7.67 million. This NFT was sold on March 11, 2021. This Cryptopunk is currently for sale by the owner for an Eye-watering 35,000 ETH ($107,086,350).

5. CryptoPunk #7523 — $11.75m

CryptoPunk #7523 is the fifth-highest selling NFT on the market, with a total value of $11.75 million. This NFT was sold on July 15, 2021. This Cryptopunk is not listed for sale.

4. Beeple’s HUMAN ONE — $28.985m

Human One is the fourth-highest selling NFT with a sale value of $28.985m, this NFT created by Beeple was sold on November 9, 2021.

3. Clock — $52.7m

‘Clock’ NFT, which was created by an artist named ‘Pak,’ recently sold their NFT for 52.7m on February 10, 2022. The funds of this sale will go towards the legal defence of renowned Wiki Leaks founder Julian Assange.

2. Beeple’s Everyday: the First 5000 Days — $69.3m

Another NFT created by Mike Winkelmann, also known as ‘Beeple,’ was the most expensive NFT sold by this artist. Beeple’s artwork is highly regarded through the community, and this piece is a collage of 5000 pieces of his work. Taking a journey back to 2007, he vowed to create one piece of art every day. Needless to say, this was the result of his hard work. ‘The First 5000 Days’ was sold back on March 11, 2021, at Christie’s.

1. Pak’s ‘The Merge’ — $91.8m

Another piece that was created by an online artist named ‘Pak.’ The Merge became the most expensive NFT ever sold. The sale happened on December 2, 2021, with a group of 30,000 collectors investing in this NFT for a total sale value of $91.8m.
