Notorious B.I.G.’s estate has teamed up with OneOf to release an NFT collection for Biggie Smalls. OneOf announced the news on March 9, Biggie’s 25th death anniversary.
A portion of the proceeds from the Biggie Smalls NFT Collection will be donated to Biggie’s foundation.
Josh James, C.E.O. and co-founder of OneOf, believes the new partnership is a tribute to Biggie’s legacy.
“We’re honoured to work with The Christopher Wallace Estate,” says James. “Using NFT technology, Biggie’s legacy and his outsized impact on music and culture will be forever cemented on the blockchain.”
Fans of Biggie Smalls should keep an eye out for the NFT drop on OneOf’s website. Also, the web3 company has made special updates on its Twitter and Discord accounts.
In the meantime, fans can look forward to Biggie’s sophomore album, Life After Death. The album’s release date is two weeks after Biggie Smalls’ NFT drop.
Christopher Wallace, aka Biggie Smalls
In addition to his stage name, Christopher George Latore Wallace goes by many other names. Among them is Notorious B.I.G., Biggie Smalls, or simply Biggie.
Sadly, Wallace was assassinated in 1997. He was an American rapper and songwriter. He was killed in a drive-by shooting.
The late rapper’s mother, Voletta Wallace, later established the Christopher Wallace Memorial Foundation. The foundation supports young people in their academic endeavours.
Voletta says the NFT release will provide fans with the opportunity to honour their love for Biggie and his music.
